A Continent Not To Be Overlooked

Have you been to India lately?

I have. I traveled to Chennai, of Tamil Nadu, India this past July 2017 to meet with other Born Again believers from other nations for a conference.  We were there for 2 weeks. I flew on Emirates with a nonstop flight to Dubai then one last flight into India. Longest flight of my life -15 hours!  This is the norm for some people whose home is aboard.  It was my first time traveling to India so I was exited and anticipating a great experience.  I was not disappointed.  It is a beautiful land with people who are passionate about their culture and beliefs.  For it being the month of July I was expecting a heat wave of a summer but surprisingly the heat was tolerable. We were served delicious tea everyday which is practically a must.  The Indian cuisine is to be appreciated. In my opinion, I found it to be healthy selections of meals that you won’t find so easily here in the states. I did not get to travel out and go sight seeing as my focus was the the conference only. I highly anticipate my next visit as the Lord wills.

Just like any other nation, India has it’s social economic, political, humanitarian issues in the land. Faith wise, the enemy has waged war against the Christians in India by way of persecution towards pastors/believers being beaten, churches being damaged/burned and the likes. I cannot say I know everything that goes on in the land only what I have come across in the news or prayer requests sent to me by my Christian friends living in India.  India also battle devastating floods every year which is hard to watch as countless residents lose their homes and loved ones.

CHRISTIANITY  IN INDIA: According to statistics, Christianity is the 3rd largest religion (2.3%)  in India, while Hinduism is the first (79.8) and Islam being second (14.2%). Thomas the Apostle, one of the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ, informally called  “doubting Thomas” because he doubted Jesus’ resurrection when first told, however, he believed later by his confession of faith, “My Lord and my God,” on seeing Jesus’ wounded body face to face. He is the apostle sent by God in the power of the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in India.  According to Syrian Christian tradition, Saint Thomas was martyred by way of spear while running up a mount away from his persecutors. The location is modernly known today as St. Thomas Mount in the Chennai, of Tamil Nadu.Image result for doubting thoma

The Born Again believers I’ve come to across and know as friends today are on fire for God. During the conference my brothers and sisters in Christ prayed with great urgency and fervency which made my heart glad to know how passionate the people of God are in India, and across all nations of course. But I had a chance to witness this first hand and I praise our heavenly Father for his work in the hearts of his people in India.

BUT WHAT IS GOD DOING IN INDIA TODAY? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is raising and preparing his end time Prophets even now in India. Bold prophetic voices will be heard throughout the land proclaiming the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. There is a wave of deception and persecution which will increase in the nation with great intensity. The enemy’s goal is to wear down the saints, to discourage, distract and disillusion the Truth which they once had.  Do not settle in being a spectator for what the Lord God has begun in the nation of India. Get the Light of Jesus Christ in you by mediating on his word daily, continue to pray with fervency and ask the Lord for his grace so that your faith will not fail when the wave of trials come to your neighborhood.              Proclaim the truth of God with great boldness as the Holy Spirit empowers you. For everything that can be shaken, will shaken and tumble down. Only those that have made Lord Jesus their foundation will remain standing.

We remain in prayer over India: For those souls who do not know to come to the saving knowledge of  Lord Jesus Christ and for the faith of every believer to fail not.

Matthew 7:24-27
24  “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. 26  But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

Hebrews 12:25-29

See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”
