American Civil War 2.0?

This racial division and influx of protesting is the recipe for what I’ve termed, “The Great Distraction” for what is about to take place in America. Our enemies maybe looking at America sitting back waiting for it to

implode upon itself. Why waste time using nuclear devices, why try to out number that last mass shooting, why continue with their religious rhetoric threats and boosting?

What happened to America?

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance. Blessed are the people whose God is Lord Jehovah: the people whom he has chosen for himself for his inheritance. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD.         ~Psalm 33:12

In 1963,  the US Supreme Court prohibited state-sponsored prayer in schools. Just like most civil cases bought to court, an individual did not like something being done a certain way and wanted to change it.  New York school system established the “Regents Prayer” in 1955 which required the students to put their hands together, bend their head and say a scripted prayer to God in heaven. About 7 years later, a father felt like something needed to be done seeing his son praying this way and was offended because that was “not the way we pray”. Along other parents in agreement, a lawsuit was set and the rest is history.

Their are plenty of factors  in places that have deteriorate the foundations of the United States of America: Legalization of Abortion, Same Sex Marriage, Legal sale of alcohol, marijuana sales, etc.  The pilgrims sought a new land away from British rule for one main reason: to worship the one True God. A country is only as good as the people in it. There is nothing new under the sun as the bible states. Most High God, recognizes governmental bodies and we are to respect it as long as it doesn’t go against the Word. When a government of a country establish a sin as law into its land, then the whole land is under curse, not only the ones who we committing the sin.  Sin has always been in this world since the fall of Adam and Eve; however removing Godly foundations of a country puts it on a fast tract of collapsing.

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.  Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.  For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.  For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.  Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. ~ Hebrews 13:1-5

It’s hard to read this passage without thinking “What about police brutality”, “What about those prisoners locked up for years only be found innocent and missed out on life?” “What about those christian bakers whose business was shut down because they refused business to a same sex couple’s request?”, “What about all the injustice going on in the land, all under the name of authority, governing authorities?”

One answer:

Sin.

On this earth we will face injustice,  and for some of us, most of the injustice will not be due to governing bodies. It will be from those closest to us committing the most foul injustice. In this fallen world, we are to keep our mind renewed with the word of God, speak boldly when lead by the Holy Spirit and intercede for the nation.

The Lord can protect those who are his, but doesn’t mean that when the life of a believer is cut short because of injustice, that God stopped being good. Try explaining to a 5 year old the nature of man, you’d lose that child’s attention and their understanding fairly quickly.  Just as believer in Jesus Christ, who walks away from him will reap consequence of his/her transgressions, so will a nation. It’s like a parent preaching to a child concerning his/her welfare and warning of dangers out there, yet the child being quite determined to do his/her own will or listening to ill advice of friends. Sooner or later, the consequences will be reaped.  There is a remedy:Repentance. Forgiveness is freely given to those who believe.

Nationalism will either bring a country together for a unified cause or tear it apart because of their differences.

Technology has helped, no less. Some in the Body of Christ are wrapped up in the division. If you are a born again believer, I encourage you to take a knee, no both knees before the One and True Living God and pray. Repent of what is not pleasing to the Lord, do what the Lord asked you to do and stay ready in general. Think 5 wise virgins.

Intercede for America, for the nations.

2 Chronicles 7:14 ~ If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Galatians 3:28  ~ There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
John 3:29  ~ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.
